Who is entitled to the Assegno di Inclusione?
To qualify for the Inclusion checkThe family unit must meet specific criteria.
It's not enough to just have a low income; it's mandatory that at least one member of the family meets one of these conditions:
- Under 18 years old
- Person with a disability (according to Italian law)
- A person who is at least 60 years old or someone in a situation of severe social disadvantage assisted by social and health services.
In addition to the members' profile, there is a residency requirement. The applicant must have resided in Italy for at least five years, with the last two years having been continuous residency.
This rule aims to ensure that the benefit reaches those who have an established link with Italian territory and who contribute to the local community.
Foreigners with citizenship of the European Union or with a long-term residence permit (Longo Soggiornante) are also eligible, provided they respect the same housing deadlines.
ISEE Limits and Economic Requirements
The determining factor for the approval of Inclusion check is the Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator (ISEE).
Currently, the ISEE (Integrated System for Economic and Social Development) for families cannot exceed 9.360 euros per year.
It is important to highlight that this calculation takes into account not only salary, but also real estate assets (excluding the primary residence, up to a certain limit) and movable assets, such as bank accounts and investments.
If the family resides in a rented property, the annual income limit may be adjusted, allowing families with slightly higher incomes to still access assistance to help with housing costs.
The Italian government conducts automatic data cross-referencing between the INPS (National Social Security Institute) and the Federal Revenue Agency (Agenzia delle Entrate) to verify the accuracy of the information declared in the Single Substitute Declaration (DSU).
