Official Channels and How to Receive

Where the family should register (initial step): To register or update your Single Registry (CadÚnico) information, you must do so in person at the CRAS (Social Assistance Reference Center) or the responsible sector of your municipality. Registration in CadÚnico is a basic requirement.

Payment methods:

  • Digital or bank account (if the family has one);
  • Digital social savings account automatically opened when the family does not have a bank account;
  • Withdrawals can be made at lottery outlets and CAIXA AQUI branches, when applicable.

Tools for reference: The Bolsa Família app/portal (linked to Caixa) and official government websites provide information on the payment schedule and locations.

Practical Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Check CadÚnico: Go to the CRAS (Social Assistance Reference Center) in your municipality and confirm if the family is registered and has up-to-date information (CPF, phone numbers, and family composition).
  2. Ask for guidance at the CRAS (Social Assistance Reference Center): Ask about inclusion in the Gas Assistance program and whether the municipal manager has quotas or additional criteria.  
  3. Follow the calendar: Check the Bolsa Família/Caixa payment schedule to find out the month your payment will be transferred.
  4. Receipt: If you have an account, the money will be deposited into your digital/bank account; if not, inform the municipality so they can open a digital social savings account. Withdrawals can be made at lottery outlets/BOX HERE.

Necessary documents

  • Identification document of the person who will be the family head (preferably the woman indicated in the CadÚnico);
  • CPF;
  • Proof of address;
  • Documents from family members (when requested by the CRAS).
    Always bring copies and originals to the CRAS (Social Assistance Reference Center) for updating.
