The program was developed by the Ministry of Social Development, Assistance, Family and Fight against Hunger (MDS), in partnership with the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) and Caixa Econômica Federal.
By replacing the old "Brazilian Gas Assistance" program, which provided cash payments to help with gas purchases, the program now offers refills directly at accredited retailers, making it easier to use and ensuring that the benefit is applied to its intended purpose: cooking gas.
